Yes, appointments are required at Kalon. This helps ensure that every bride gets the full KBS experience.

We recommend shopping 10-12 months prior to your big day to allow for typical production timelines and alterations once your dress arrives. However, if your big day is closer, don’t sweat! We work closely with our designers to stay up to date with current production times, and all of our designers also offer rush production options when timelines are extra tight!

Our collection ranges from $1,600 - $5,700, with the majority of our dresses being between $2,500 - $4,000. NOTE: Embellished and lace gowns begin at $3,000.

We offer multiple types of appointments here at KBS - each with their own unique length of time:

• Bridal Appointments : 90 minutes

• Returning Bridal Appointments : 60 minutes *can be longer if requested

• Accessory Styling Appointments : 60 minutes

• Pick up Appointments : 60 minutes

Sample sizes in the studio currently range from 10-20 with the majority between 10-14.

Wear both an outfit and undergarments you feel comfortable and confident in! We recommend undergarments that fit well under formal attire like nude undies and a strapless bra or pasties. If you know what shoes you are wearing on your big day or plan to wear spanx, bring those too!

You can always reschedule or cancel your appointment by giving us a call or shooting us an email! If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, you will be charged the stylist fee.

KBS requires a 50% deposit to place the order of your gown with your designer, and the remaining balance on the order is due in 90 days. We are also proud to offer payment plans for the remainder of your balance if desired.

NOTE : Any order that includes a rush fee is due in full at the time of payment.

We are proud to offer exclusive private, in-studio fittings with a talented DSM area seamstress for our KBS brides. Ask your stylist how to get on her books during your bridal appointment!

We are located in the historic Frenchway Cleaner’s building in Des Moines’s Highland Park Business District. Our building has ample parking in a private lot just east of the building. There is also limited street parking available on Euclid Ave in front of our storefront, and near our neighboring businesses as well.
